The Rocking Chair Detective relates the story of the life of a $20 bill. Money passes from newsstand to bank to diner to market and finally to the wallet of the detective. A mystery in One Act. Focus is on characterization: What is my character like? Why does my character use the language and phrasing he uses? What causes my character’s reactions? How does my character’s clothing influence his actions? What could I do to give my character personality?
This 35-minute drama is appropriate for all ages to perform. Focus is on characterizations. No set changes. Costuming is fun and easy to procure. Not demanding.
